Three Things On A Friday

Hello! Hope you’ve had a lovely week? Me, I’m shattered it’s been intense but thankfully has ended on a positive note.   My three precious things for the week;  Sweet As Can Be Home. Myself and the pooch have finally found a place to call our own. Now, is it the dream one we’ve been wishing for? Nope. Did it tick every box I (stubbornly) had in my head? .. Course not.  HOWEVER is it so wonderful that we’re super happy everyday to be there? YES.  We are living in a big spacious house, there’s a park at our doorstep (great for walking your dog) and sharing with three people who have all welcomed me and the pooch into their home.  And that is all that matters.  Because finding somewhere to live with pets (in London) has proven to be one of the MOST difficult, fraustrating processes   I have ever been through and one I would rather not repeat for a long, long time.  Friends. You know the ones who make your world a much …

Three Things Thursday

Hello! Hi three things readers, the absence of gratitude is not for the lack of good things happening, I just haven’t mastered the art of coping with some of the trials that have presented themselves this past month.   But today has been a good day so here’s my gratitude list, not just for the week but with highlights from this month.  Kindness. Doesn’t cost a damn thing, so why can’t more people spread it around as much as they do hate? I’ll never know. But I wanted to THANK every single stranger that helped me, during my long journey from Japan to London, via Amsterdam.  It was the best way to welcome me back to Europe. Despite being exhausted, emotional and anxious throughout, each person that offered to help with my luggage and ginormous dog (travel) crate on trains, buses and ferry made the journey so much easier.  I wish I could contact you all and let you know just what it meant to me. And hope that the universe rewards you with nothing …

Three Things Thursday

Hello! I hope your week has been all sorts of fun and you find yourself full of gratitude today. My three things for this week are: Mr Cheerful. I have been all over the place mentally and things have been incredibly stressful, but this week wouldn’t have gone so well without Mr Cheerfuls help. SO I am extra thankful this week for his patience, love and support. Home Sweet Home. Today I finally booked my flights home and although I am feeling really anxious about going back after two years away, I’m VERY excited to get back home to my friends and family. Also during my first week, it’s my best friend’s birthday and she has no idea I’ll be there to celebrate with her. Can’t wait to surprise her. Job Offer. As I’ve mentioned before, one of my biggest fears was going back home to no job, and having nowhere to live. As of today one of those prayers has been answered as I got offered a job and one that I couldn’t be …

Three Things Thursday

Happy Three Things Thursday  ,I hope your week has been all sorts of wonderful and if not, it’s almost the weekend so hang in there, you’re doing just fine! This week was slightly quieter but still a breath of fresh air, which I am thankful for. Moments that made me smile, Impromptu Game Sesh. Went to the mall for our weekly food shop and bumped into a friend who was out with his gf. The mall has an arcade so we ended up playing a Mario Olympic game … that I lost. And then Street Fighter (5 I think) which I WON …. yay! Had so much fun… next time I’m coming for you, Mario. READ ME. Even though I am one book behind on my challenge, I’m enjoying taking time out to read. Super late to this thrilling party (see what I did there), but just finished The Girl on the Train. Took me a while because I didn’t want people to accidentally let anything slip. I won’t do that to you here and will only …

Three Things Thursday

Happy Three Things Thursday  I hope your week’s going well? Mine has been much more eventful than last, thank goodness. So what’s added to this more positive mindset? Taiko Drumming. We went to a show on Saturday and had a GREAT time! It was more fun than I thought it would be, from watching the intensity of the performances to the culture associated with it unfold in front of me.  Also felt good to be a part of something that was happening in our local community. Photos to come soon! SURPRISE. I spent last week trying to get things organised to surprise Mr Cheerful for his birthday. It went without a hitch, everyone showed up and we had an awesome time! An evening full of good food, laughter and singing took place which he seemed pretty pleased and most importantly surprised about … hurrah! Best Friend. My dog has been the sweetest and calmest little thing this week. It’s been wonderful, he even let me give him a bath today without a fuss! Maybe its age …

Three Things Thursday

Happy Three Things Thursday And a lovely welcome to April! I hope it’s treating you well. The week got off to a great start, but these three things just made it sweeter! Maned WOLF. We decided to finally go and visit Ueno Zoo. We’d been avoiding this particular zoo because it didn’t get very good reviews, in terms of the animals not looking too happy. I have a post about our visit coming soon BUT for now my highlight was, seeing a maned wolf for the first time! They are BEAUTIFUL. Hawaiian Dinner. Think I have found the BEST burgers in Tokyo, courtesy of Kua Aina. It’s  been days since I ate there BUT I am still reminiscing (and drooling) over their bacon burger . Luckily it wasn’t too pricey either, so definitely going back there soon. Friendly Facetime. My best friend surprised me by face timing me alongside the rest of our group of friends, I haven’t seen all their faces for a while so I got a little teary. All HAPPY tears though which …

Contemplation, Week 6

Hello! And welcome to Week 6 of Contemplation. Thanks again to Desley from musings of a frequent flying scientist, for starting the Contemplation series. Each week Desley chooses a prompt from her Kikki.K A Sentence a Day Journal and invites us to share our response. * My post from last week, here. * This week’s lovely prompt:  What are you saving for? Currently there is so much going on and ALL of it seems to require money. So I’m I saving for one thing? Nope, I’m trying to save for quite a few things but they are all important and I know once paid for, I’ll feel a huge sense of relief and excitement. As our time in Japan is coming up, at the moment trying to save for flights back home / my dog’s travel expenses / a few day trips and weekends away. This is all for a good cause so of course I’m not mad about it, just a little overwhelmed by how costly it’s becoming BUT I keep reminding myself that whether you’re moving abroad OR just …
