Reflection: September

Firstly, I have officially been home for 3 months! Feels so much longer, as a lot has changed personally and continues to shift, so let’s get onto what took place this month. – Work has been incredibly exhausting and stressful. And rumour has it that this isn’t even as stressful as it can be, sigh. HOWEVER after having a meeting with my boss a few days ago I’ve been reassured that I am on the right track, he sees much more potential in me then I can which is a good source of motivation. Thanks boss! – A friend is currently planning a  business venture and asked me to partner up. Literally when she told me the idea I was like “I knew we were friends for a reason” all I can say that it is in line with my dream job which combines working in music and helping people. This is pretty exciting as you know I have been trying to work on finding my ‘’true calling’’ for years, now that it looks like …

Contemplation, Week 7

Hello! And welcome to Week 7 of Contemplation. Thanks again to Desley from musings of a frequent flying scientist, for starting the Contemplation series. Each week Desley chooses a prompt from her Kikki.K A Sentence a Day Journal and invites us to share our response. * My post from last week, here. * This week’s prompt: What quality is most important to you in a friend? When I first read the question I made a mental list of qualities, but the two that stuck were loyalty and trustworthiness. It’s difficult choosing just one, I know I keep breaking the rules tsk tsk  😉 so I’ll briefly share why both are important. Loyalty. Such a fantastic one to have, especially towards the people you love. Hearts are formed and broken because of this. There are people no longer in my life because I came to find out that they had been disloyal and once that trust is gone, it’s difficult to get back. Definitely a prerequisite. Trustworthiness. I know it has a lot of similarities to the above BUT I was also …

Contemplation, Week 6

Hello! And welcome to Week 6 of Contemplation. Thanks again to Desley from musings of a frequent flying scientist, for starting the Contemplation series. Each week Desley chooses a prompt from her Kikki.K A Sentence a Day Journal and invites us to share our response. * My post from last week, here. * This week’s lovely prompt:  What are you saving for? Currently there is so much going on and ALL of it seems to require money. So I’m I saving for one thing? Nope, I’m trying to save for quite a few things but they are all important and I know once paid for, I’ll feel a huge sense of relief and excitement. As our time in Japan is coming up, at the moment trying to save for flights back home / my dog’s travel expenses / a few day trips and weekends away. This is all for a good cause so of course I’m not mad about it, just a little overwhelmed by how costly it’s becoming BUT I keep reminding myself that whether you’re moving abroad OR just …

Three Things Thursday

Happy Three Things Thursday .Hope you’ve had a good week? My three things are short-ish and super sweet this week: Technology! Distance may make the heart grow fonder BUT with the help of the internet, keeping in touch with loved ones has never been easier. Birthday messages from home this week have made my heart flutter. TRAVELING. Technically we are BUT haven’t left Japan in almost two years. Any opportunity we get to visit a different city / town to me feels like traveling. Had a fantastic time in Nagano and I think it reminded us just how much we love exploring, learning and sampling new things. With the travel bug in full force again, we’re currently planning a trip outside of Japan for April. YAY! Wanted to add something with another T, (OCD at its finest ey) but this has also made me smile: Hotel… BEDs. I know, I know it sounds WEIRD, but I’ve missed western beds more than I thought I ever could. Our hotel had them and I would’ve stayed there ALL …

Heart Day! …

Oh sweet Valentine’s day, you have no idea what kind of trouble you can cause! Half of us spend this time of year rolling our eyes so far back its a surprise we don’t fall over, at the just the mention of the day. The other half, are busy trying to guess what xx got them or how they can’t wait to see xx face when they show them what they’ve brought/made. Although I’m not a big advocate for v-day, I am a huge sucker for LOVE and anything that encourages to remember and be grateful for those we hold dear to us. BUT as with everything else, I haven’t made any concrete plans and I’m aware that the day is fast approaching. SO if you’re in the same boat, grab your beverage of choice and have a look at the list below! I wanted to feature links with ideas that cater to everyone in your life (yes even pets) whom you’d like to shower with extra love and appreciation. Lovley links: Cards! Cards! Cards! …
