Weekly Photo Challenge #39: Tiny Beautiful Things

This week was all about Nostalgia. Decided that this photo of my dog represented it nicely. His still small but this was taken back when he was tiny and I used to be scared of accidentally sitting on him. Now his this super excitable, friendly, quirky dog, who reminds me every day to stop and take a look around at all the wonderful things we’re surrounded by. Advertisements

Current Status: On A Sunday Afternoon

Still keeping a low profile, and feeling emotional this week however I’ve had a good weekend so I’m grateful for that! Thought I would share happenings / current life status below, Listening to The Life of Pablo on repeat. There aren’t any “love” songs on there, so you don’t have to worry about any Adele induced emotions or inspired actions, which generally means no crying (YAY). Favourite song: Fade. Feeling proud of myself for going to the Gym. Twice this week (baby steps my friend). After wanting to achieve the perfect “summer body” since I was 16, figured why not get ahead of next year by starting now! Ask me next week if I’m still this excited by it because my non abs still hurt from a class I did about 3 days ago. Thinking about what my morning routine could be, but looking for one that won’t feel like one because once it does, it’s easy give up. So far mine resembles: wake up, get ready for work, walk dog, cuddles dog, feed dog, feel …

Three Things Thursday

Hello! How’s your week going? Things have been quiet and a bit off this week for me, but these three things have kept my spirits up: Everything in life is Figureoutable. No idea why I’ve never heard of Marie Forleo before (where have I been?) BUT I am glad I have now. I came across this wonderful, inspirational and funny video from her on Super Soul TV. Everything is figureoutable is a motto her mother taught her as a teen, and how she’s lived her life since.  Super inspiring, definitely give it a watch! Travel Planning. Whenever I am in one of my life sucks moods, travel planning always cheers me up! It helps me to focus and appreciate the opportunities I have around me, being able to travel is a luxury we rarely stop to fully appreciate. Recently I started looking into what’s next for me after Japan and it’s got me SUPER excited. Can’t wait to share final travel plans with you and hopefully get some cool tips on what to do. Brave Boy. …

Contemplation, Week 10

Hello! Welcome to week 10 of Contemplation, where Desley from musings of a frequent flying scientist, chooses a prompt from her Kikki.K A Sentence a Day Journal and invites us to share our response. * my post from Week 9, here * Today’s prompt: How has a pet impacted your life? I would say my dog has had a huge impact on my life. His taught me many things in such a short space of time! Some of which include patience, unconditional love, and to stop to enjoy the simple things. Before I got him I wasn’t known for my patience, and I know it’s still a work in progress BUT my dog has definitely been a constant reminder for me to continue to practice being patient. His also taught me what unconditional love really means. He shows me this every day, even if I’m miserable where I feel like everything sucks, he still shows me love and doesn’t judge me for having one of those days. Something else he has taught me from day one, has …

Three Things Thursday

Happy Three Things Thursday  I hope your week’s going well? Mine has been much more eventful than last, thank goodness. So what’s added to this more positive mindset? Taiko Drumming. We went to a show on Saturday and had a GREAT time! It was more fun than I thought it would be, from watching the intensity of the performances to the culture associated with it unfold in front of me.  Also felt good to be a part of something that was happening in our local community. Photos to come soon! SURPRISE. I spent last week trying to get things organised to surprise Mr Cheerful for his birthday. It went without a hitch, everyone showed up and we had an awesome time! An evening full of good food, laughter and singing took place which he seemed pretty pleased and most importantly surprised about … hurrah! Best Friend. My dog has been the sweetest and calmest little thing this week. It’s been wonderful, he even let me give him a bath today without a fuss! Maybe its age …
