Three Things On A Friday

Hello! Hope you’ve had a lovely week? Me, I’m shattered it’s been intense but thankfully has ended on a positive note.   My three precious things for the week;  Sweet As Can Be Home. Myself and the pooch have finally found a place to call our own. Now, is it the dream one we’ve been wishing for? Nope. Did it tick every box I (stubbornly) had in my head? .. Course not.  HOWEVER is it so wonderful that we’re super happy everyday to be there? YES.  We are living in a big spacious house, there’s a park at our doorstep (great for walking your dog) and sharing with three people who have all welcomed me and the pooch into their home.  And that is all that matters.  Because finding somewhere to live with pets (in London) has proven to be one of the MOST difficult, fraustrating processes   I have ever been through and one I would rather not repeat for a long, long time.  Friends. You know the ones who make your world a much …

Three Things Thursday

Hello! Hi three things readers, the absence of gratitude is not for the lack of good things happening, I just haven’t mastered the art of coping with some of the trials that have presented themselves this past month.   But today has been a good day so here’s my gratitude list, not just for the week but with highlights from this month.  Kindness. Doesn’t cost a damn thing, so why can’t more people spread it around as much as they do hate? I’ll never know. But I wanted to THANK every single stranger that helped me, during my long journey from Japan to London, via Amsterdam.  It was the best way to welcome me back to Europe. Despite being exhausted, emotional and anxious throughout, each person that offered to help with my luggage and ginormous dog (travel) crate on trains, buses and ferry made the journey so much easier.  I wish I could contact you all and let you know just what it meant to me. And hope that the universe rewards you with nothing …

Three Things Thursday

Hello! I hope your week has been all sorts of fun and you find yourself full of gratitude today. My three things for this week are: Mr Cheerful. I have been all over the place mentally and things have been incredibly stressful, but this week wouldn’t have gone so well without Mr Cheerfuls help. SO I am extra thankful this week for his patience, love and support. Home Sweet Home. Today I finally booked my flights home and although I am feeling really anxious about going back after two years away, I’m VERY excited to get back home to my friends and family. Also during my first week, it’s my best friend’s birthday and she has no idea I’ll be there to celebrate with her. Can’t wait to surprise her. Job Offer. As I’ve mentioned before, one of my biggest fears was going back home to no job, and having nowhere to live. As of today one of those prayers has been answered as I got offered a job and one that I couldn’t be …

Three Things Thursday

Happy Three Things Thursday  I hope you are well? Below my little list of gratitude for the week, Unspoken Words. I woke up a few days ago with this quote from my best friend: sometimes the people who are thousands of miles away from you can make you feel better than the people right beside you.  She is currently going through something really difficult and I’ve felt really guilty for not being able to be there for her. So this message means the world! Knowing that despite the distance, she still feels like I am helping is a really good feeling. A Healthy Distraction: in Books. There’s no better feeling when everything is a little hectic, than finding a healthy distraction for a moment or two. Mine right now is the book I’m reading, Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. It’s beautifully written and I’m enjoying the fact that even though I’m more than halfway through, I still have no idea how it’ll end. Recommend a read, even if you REALLY hate cheesy YA books.. Positive …

Three Things Thursday

Hello! How’s your week going? Things have been quiet and a bit off this week for me, but these three things have kept my spirits up: Everything in life is Figureoutable. No idea why I’ve never heard of Marie Forleo before (where have I been?) BUT I am glad I have now. I came across this wonderful, inspirational and funny video from her on Super Soul TV. Everything is figureoutable is a motto her mother taught her as a teen, and how she’s lived her life since.  Super inspiring, definitely give it a watch! Travel Planning. Whenever I am in one of my life sucks moods, travel planning always cheers me up! It helps me to focus and appreciate the opportunities I have around me, being able to travel is a luxury we rarely stop to fully appreciate. Recently I started looking into what’s next for me after Japan and it’s got me SUPER excited. Can’t wait to share final travel plans with you and hopefully get some cool tips on what to do. Brave Boy. …

Reflection: April

Here’s to April for being the month of learning to be a better listener and more open and honest. Which probably stemmed from March being so reflective. Side note, excuse me if I start rambling, I haven’t been sleeping very well and keep feeling super tired all the time. Moving on, for someone like me who’s a chatterbox, listening has never been my strong point. Growing up my Dad got bored of attending parents evening because teachers would say, I spent more time talking then I would listening to anyone, whether they were my classmate or teacher. A few weeks ago I read an article about how sometimes when we’re ‘listening’ we’re not really paying attention to what is being said. Instead we tend to listen whilst thinking about our response BEFORE the other person has finished talking. Which ultimately means we haven’t fully given them our attention. Something we can all admit to have done at some point. After reading that article, I decided to work on this area. Some of the things I …

Three Things Thursday

Happy Three Things Thursday  ,I hope your week has been all sorts of wonderful and if not, it’s almost the weekend so hang in there, you’re doing just fine! This week was slightly quieter but still a breath of fresh air, which I am thankful for. Moments that made me smile, Impromptu Game Sesh. Went to the mall for our weekly food shop and bumped into a friend who was out with his gf. The mall has an arcade so we ended up playing a Mario Olympic game … that I lost. And then Street Fighter (5 I think) which I WON …. yay! Had so much fun… next time I’m coming for you, Mario. READ ME. Even though I am one book behind on my challenge, I’m enjoying taking time out to read. Super late to this thrilling party (see what I did there), but just finished The Girl on the Train. Took me a while because I didn’t want people to accidentally let anything slip. I won’t do that to you here and will only …
