Current Status: On A Sunday Afternoon

Still keeping a low profile, and feeling emotional this week however I’ve had a good weekend so I’m grateful for that! Thought I would share happenings / current life status below, Listening to The Life of Pablo on repeat. There aren’t any “love” songs on there, so you don’t have to worry about any Adele induced emotions or inspired actions, which generally means no crying (YAY). Favourite song: Fade. Feeling proud of myself for going to the Gym. Twice this week (baby steps my friend). After wanting to achieve the perfect “summer body” since I was 16, figured why not get ahead of next year by starting now! Ask me next week if I’m still this excited by it because my non abs still hurt from a class I did about 3 days ago. Thinking about what my morning routine could be, but looking for one that won’t feel like one because once it does, it’s easy give up. So far mine resembles: wake up, get ready for work, walk dog, cuddles dog, feed dog, feel …

Life Update (With A Side of Jet Lag)

Hello! Hello! Today I wanted to share what’s kept me away from here, beginning with the news that I am no longer in Japan and finally back home in London. HURRAH but first lets go back to my last days in Japan and the ridiculousness that took place. Forgive my ramblings I wrote this SUPER jet lagged. Goodbye (for now) My Loves … During my last week and a half I became part owner of these two. How did this happen? I went to get my dog his vet certificate for travel and bumped into a distressed lady and three kittens in a box, by the way this is the second time I have met a lady with a box of stray kittens at the vets. She stroke up a conversation with me as the only other English speaker and we bonded over animals.I found out later that she was a flight attendant and due to leave that very same day, so she desperately wanted someone i.e the vets to look after them. After a …

Contemplation, Week 3

Hello! And welcome to Week 3 of Contemplation. Thanks again to Desley from musings of a frequent flying scientist, for starting the Contemplation series. Each week Desley chooses a prompt from her Kikki.K A Sentence a Day Journal and invites us to share our response. Here are my posts from Week one + two. Today’s question: What do you like to do in your “me” time? If you had asked me this a few months ago I would’ve only said: Put my favourite playlist on blast and dance around the house like an idiot. As much as I still LOVE doing that, it took me a while I’ve managed to find other things I enjoy doing too. Three months ago I found myself having an abundance of ‘me’ time and in the beginning it wasn’t going as well as I had planned. I thought I would spend it solely on myself. That I would lock myself in a room and write until my fingers bled, do Yoga every single day or that I would fully immerse myself in daily meditation again …

Contemplation, Week 2

Hello! Hope you are well? Super excited to share week 2 with you. Thanks again to musings of a frequent flying scientis, for starting Contemplation. Each week Desley chooses a prompt from Kikki.K A Sentence a Day Journal and invites us to share our response. My first week’s post here. I think this prompt fits perfectly with the tone of how I’m feeling on this gloomy Monday: What would you attempt if you knew you couldn’t fail? I must admit that it was a bit difficult to answer for many reasons, the major one being it’s not just failure that I’m afraid of, but also the other F … Feedback. If there was any guarantee that success was on the other side, I would definitely finish up a few of my stories. For as long as I can remember I’ve loved writing stories, sometimes I read them and laugh but other times, I feel a little sad that I didn’t finish them. It could have the potential to be something great, if only I worked harder …

Contemplation, Week 1

The lovely Desley from musings of a frequent flying scientis, started a beautiful series called Contemplation. This is week one but before we go any further, I’ll let the leading lady herself explain what it’s all about, Since July 17th, 2015, I have been using the Kikki.KA Sentence a Day Journal. This is a beautiful mindfulness journal which provides one prompt per day, but has space on that page for three years worth of responses. I love the idea of having this with me for three years and each year discovering my response from the previous year and seeing whether I’ve grown, moved forward, stayed strong in my convictions, taken a step back or changed my ideas. Each week, I’ll choose one of the prompts from that week and share both it and my response with you. I invite you to join me and share your response to the prompt as well, linking back to this post so that I can read your response. Use the tag Contemplation and name your post “Contemplation – Week xx”, …
