Contemplation, Week 9

Happy Tuesday! And welcome to week 9 of Contemplation, where Desley from musings of a frequent flying scientist, chooses a prompt from her Kikki.K A Sentence a Day Journal and invites us to share our response.

* My post from last week, here. *

Today’s prompt: What’s your favourite topic of conversation.

Think by now you’ve probably guessed that I’ll have more than ONE answer.

First topic is about people. Any conversation that has some form of human connection to it has the ability to hold my attention for hours and hours! It is such a diverse topic and can take you from discussing relationships, to what makes someone a psychopath.

Which is a conversation I had recently, and ended up speaking about for an unhealthy amount of time, it was a really interesting though! I think that growing up I was always curious about people and trying to figure them out, I guess that curiosity never left. So topics to do with us mere mortals, I guess is probably my favourite.

A close second would be BOOKS! I love speaking to people about what books they’ve read and what they took from it. I enjoy hearing people’s opinions and having healthy discussions about why it was awesome or … rubbish.

Last topic is writing. You know the conversations where you’re able to share things you’ve learned, what works and doesn’t work for you? Those are always welcome. Sharing is caring and if you can find a group of people who enjoy discussing their experiences with you, that’s pretty cool.

What are some of your favourite topics of conversation and why?

  1. Great topics! Particularly people and what makes them tick. I enjoy those conversations as well. Meg commented that this prompt is like an extension of the “what do you look for in a friend” prompt, in that one of hers was “shared interests” but also completely different interests as she was always interested in learning something new. Loving this prompt, thanks for contemplating 😊

It was a super prompt this week, seemingly simple question at first, but as you mentioned can (did) bring up lots of different topics! 🙂
